I didnt like how this package came in 2 boxes. I had unboxed everything only to find the nuts and bolts were missing. And overall, the way the footboard and frame for the shelves are put together is very bizarre. Nonetheless, it is mostly real oak-wood! Its a combination of ply and oak. Also; you only get the set number of screws and bolts needed for the bed. (No extras!) So dont lose them. Otherwise, once the hassle of putting the bed is finished; its wonderful for the value! And the bed is very sturdy. Worth the money, just dedicate a day off for the construction and keep a close eye on the bolts. And of course; wait for both packages to arrive at your door.
The bed and dresser structure is solid, and it looks nice, dont get me wrong. But someone (intern? cost cutting expert?) has redesigned the drawers. Instead of coming up the full 4 3/4, the sides only come up 3 inches. Thats like losing 2 drawers. They are made of cheap pressboard, and the fasteners crush the pressboard when tightened. It is different than the pictures - they need to update the pictures when they redesign the item.

I bought 4 of these beds for my grandchildren they went together nicely I love the drawers how they can be placed on either side of the bed plus the coaster wheels We did put in a couple of screws attaching the bed to the drawers so it was easier to pull out the drawers but these can be removed if a change is needed The bed is all wood drawers are nice easy to open has panel for drawer bottoms but is much nicer than any other bed at this price i could find
