Ease of assembly and comfort are most important to me. Met my expectations. Im not sure why this has some bad reviews. I bought for my 7 year old. He loves it. For an old child maybe you can add another cross bar for stability but we found it is stable enough. I only say this because when purchasing i read the reviews and read that some people felt it was too wobbly. Maybe for an older child, not sure. As far as our experience its wonderful. I thought it might make the room feel small and cluttered but becasue of its white frame it goes well in my sons room. There is one step in building that requires two people.
The package arrived a bit torn up so I was worried that the wood would be beat up. Most of it was perfect, however there were two broken pieces. I called Dorel customer service and they shipped me the parts that same day, hence the 4 stars! The wood is beautiful, I cant wait to get it all together...will update when I do.

I was a little nervous buying furniture online without seeing it first but Im more than happy with how it turned out. It was very easy to put together. I did it by myself in a few hours. With the help of my five-year-old of course. The bed is very sturdy and in my opinion looks great. It ended up working out perfect with the shelves I already had in the room.

This is a great piece. Bought it for the basement family room and it fits perfectly down there. Fantastic bed, pretty easy to build and it really looks awesome.
Easy to put together, comfy and just as easy to disassemble when moving 130 lb box arrived with minor damage. Contents were extremely well packed almost to the point of overboard. Zero damage to anything. Why more sellers of large, heavy products cant do that is beyond me.

Its not for adults, though. Dont try to climb the ladder, even at 170 lbs. It will creak and the rungs wont survive even a couple adult footsteps.
Very easy to assemble, my son and I love it! Fits perfect in our little room! Great loft bed. It was pretty easy to put together and very good quality. My daughter loves it.
