The sofa: 5 starts
The chocolate leather sectional is really nice for the price. It seems to be made of top grain leather with a solid wood construction. It scratches easily, I have scratched it with my short nails several times, and anything sharper than that will scratch it more easily.
Material: The leather is not buttery supple to the touch but it still feels soft against the skin. It has a more matte finish and the feel of some sort of added coating, but the uneven texture of the top grain Is visible.
Cushions: The seat cushions are firm and the back cushions have a softer density filling material. All cushions can be detached from the sofa. The seat cushions can be lifted away, and the back cushions are attached to the back with zippers. The fillings are not accessible. The seat cushions are made of leather on the top and sides, and a stretch/fabric underneath (not visible). The back cushions are fully made of leather. The ornament bolster pillows are also detachable and have zippers to access the filling.
Chaise: The chaise part can be set either on the left or right of the sectional by switching seat the cushions and moving the support/ottoman that goes under the chaise area.
Construction: The inside structure is made os solid wood (likely pine) and it feels solid compared the average/price furniture being sold today. Definitely not solid like my grandpas furniture or like the more expensive ones being sold today.
Legs: It has 10 legs total. Made of solid wood in dark brown. Two are cylindrical and the rest are rectangular. The rounded (cylindrical) ones go in the middle of the sofa for support. They are all approximately 7 inches long by 2 inches thick, and screw into the sofas pre/drilled holes.
Unboxing: The sectional comes all in one box the size of the main seating. All the cushions as well as the ottoman that makes the sectional come pilled on top of that part. The legs are screwed into one of the wood structures inside of the sofa. They can be accessed from underneath through a zipper.
The shopping experience: 0 starts
I received the wrong sectional TWICE, and it took me an entire month, between phone calls, pickup/delivery coordinations, and missed days at work, to get the correct sofa. This struggle tarnished the new sofa experience for a while. But now my family and I are really enjoying the sectional, especially the dog. Easy set up.
We received the couch yesterday and think it is aming. Its perfect for a NY apt. and isnt too big or too small. My husband is also 63 and can use the chaise portion comfortably It really looks and feels so nice. We of course have only had it for a day, so cant speak to longevity, but otherwise we are in love with it! You can also put the chaise on either side, which is nice because we can switch it around if necessary. I did notice that the leather seemed a bit dry like other reviewers noted, so I had already bought leather conditioner and I think that helped a lot. It really looks well made and my husband and I both thought it was pretty comfortable, which I had been concerned about based on a couple reviews that said otherwise. When it arrives it is in a REALLY big box, so we had to take the box apart and then carry it up the flights of stairs to our apt. bit by bit (which wasnt too bad//also we just selected to have it delivered to our front porch because we didnt want to wait, but you can have it delivered directly to the room you want it in for no extra fee). Would definitely recommend at this point! Great value. Very sturdy.
Leather quality is okay, scratches easily so not sure how long it will hold up. Nice look and comfortability is okay. Overall we like it for the price. Attractive and strong.
This has so far exceeded expectations for the price. I havent seen a review on the chocolate leather yet and one with the chaise so thought I would share what I think so far. The cushions are a bit firm but in time I am sure it will get more comfortable. I think it is comfortable already but not that sink down feel, but in turn you dont feel like you are sitting on the floor. This is a bit smaller but I like it and could fit three people no problem. The leather does scratch easily so I am going to get a leather conditioner to help (the reason for 4 stars), it did come a bit dry which I expected but I think if you treat it you wont have a problem like the other reviewer. I anticipate it will develop a nice patina. The leather does seem thick and not thin. It is real leather, but on the tops of the arms and cushions it does seem a different consistency of leather so not sure if thats a lower grade OR it just needs conditioning and moisture. I was also worried about it being sturdy but it does seem sturdy and its sitting on laminate floor and a rug as well. Something that I dont remember reading is about the cushions, the back cushions zip to the couch to stay in place. All cushions have a zipper, which I love if you ever need to add cushioning/filling to it. I hope this lasts a long time, my last couch I had over 10 years but for the price I paid even half that is worth it. I also think the pics dont do it justice. I will update this review should I have issues in the future, so if you see no updates all is well. I would buy this brand again and wish they had a matching ottoman as I would buy in a heartbeat OR a diff style is fine in same leather color. I think if you arent sure to go for it. I am more than pleased. Oh and delivery was professional, they deliver in the box only so you have to put together. I am a single woman and it was fine. The legs are in the couch and ottoman legs in the ottoman (you see a red string in zipper part thats the legs). I would suggest opening box from the end with the legs and installing then front of box remove cushions and flip. My Nephew likes it,

I love the look!
I love the mid/century look. I purchased two of them, and they are both holding up very well. I loved it.
