The frame looks good but definitely not as sturdy. Ive had it for a little over a year and the center legs are not stable at all. I dont feel comfortable in the frame and Im afraid that at any minute they might just slide to the side.
When I received this product, it was roughly 180$ and soon dropped to 160 after I purchased. It came in a tightly packed box inside of a box and weighed quite a bit (which is a plus). I got it to my room and began to lay the pieces out to assemble them. The guide was really intuitive and helpful, so after reading it 2x I was able to assemble this bed in under 1 hour. I could have done it faster if i wasnt being SO careful, only partially tightening each screw and then tightening each one later as the whole bed came together. My only reason for 4 stars is that for 180/200$ I could have purchased a bed with a headboard and footboard (likely not the best quality), but its nice to have a headboard and footboard nonetheless. It sits a little lower to the ground than I expected, but the measurements are spot on. Would recommend to anyone who needs a really sturdy yet cost friendly bed frame
THe 12 Classic Solid Wood Platform Bed Frame w/Wooden Slats is astoundingly simple to assemble and is a beautiful and sturdy piece of furniture. We are very happy with this purchase and the delivery was less than a week. It is the perfect height for a matress without box spring, allowing room to store underneath. A great value for the cost!
We bought this at a great price from Warehouse. It said used, like new condition, a few scratches and blemishes. When it arrived and we unboxed it, we saw that part of it was broken. Not broken in transit, broken before it was repackaged and sent to us. The broken piece was wrapped in protective packaging. Seriously?
The frame itself was easy to assemble and sturdy, the many scratches came out with polish and elbow grease. Now I need to do some patching on the frame.
My first impressions were entirely positive: easy to assemble, seemingly sturdy, and looks great (although one of my legs had a splinter missing). Would recommend.
So I just purchased the Lucid 14inch memory foam mattress and I was looking for a good platform bed that was built out of solid wood, something that sat up a decent amount from the ground, and not too expensive.
Although I had some shopping issues (which resolved quickly) I got my bedframe. I was surprised at the weight of the box. As soon as I opened it up I loved the color! Assembly took no time, I went from unboxing to laying in bed in under 30 minutes (yes I timed it).
Something that surprised me most was the overall build quality. The wood is great quality, feels reliable and sturdy. Even the tools were great! It came with a speed ratchet for allen bolts.. which worked great. The slats are the coolest part of the assembly process. They are separated into two different rolls and are connected my velcro… they set right on the frame and there is a velcro strip on the bedframe that keeps them in place! A truly great concept.
For the price I am loving it! Also something that I would like to mention is there is a metal piece that goes down the center.. the manufacturer was smart enough to include specific washers so the bed doesnt squeak! Thanks for that one !
If you are looking for a honest review of this… please go off of this one. I personally get stuck in reviews when making purchases and there are always some with bad experiences and I wonder if they are true or just someone making things up….
If you are in the market for a good quality platform bed frame that isnt going to break the bank… here it is!
I got the cherry because it was $50 less than the other colors ($150 at the moment), and it turned out to be a beautiful choice! You can tell it is made from small pieces of wood glued together but I guess thats what you get unless you want to spend a lot more money. It doesnt really affect the aesthetics, at least not for me. Even being composed of smaller pieces of wood it feels incredibly sturdy. No creaking or squeaking or wobbling, zero movement at all. I put it together by myself very quickly, its simple and includes easy to understand instructions. If youve ever put together a piece of ikea furniture this will be a piece of cake for you. The pieces all fit together snugly other than a slight gap between one of the leg and sideboard pieces, even with the bolts screwed down tight, but thats not bad for a pre/drilled, mass produced item. Its WONDERFUL they included a ratchet allen wrench instead of the plain old hand crank allen wrench. The slats being attached to Velcro was very cool, fun to just unroll them and stick em on! I have a 12 thick mattress and since I didnt want my bed to be so tall (and also one of my little dogs wouldve had trouble jumping up unassisted) I had planned to cut the legs shorter, which I did on a bandsaw. I did not realize when I ordered that the stabilizing bar and its 3 legs that run across the center was metal… luckily my dad helped me to cut them with a hacksaw. So it was a bit of extra effort, but it was worth it. I cut 4.5 off of the legs, so its pretty short now! I think it looks really good though, I love the style of a low rise bed. Its cry how there are no low rise beds on , at least not currently. Or maybe my mattress is just too thick lol (its a puffy deluxe and its very comfy). Also no slipping or sliding of the mattress, even before I peeled off the sticky strips to use them. I love my new bed!
Im not a fan of how firm it is. I was hoping for a more memory foam feeling so I will be putting a topper on it which defeats the purpose of a new mattress but I cant imagine trying to return it at this point.
