This is heavy, plastic/like faux wood. It does seem like it will be very durable and resistant to liquids. Assembly would have been fairly quick, but one screw hole did not allow the screw to thread. I had to jam a small flathead screwdriver into the hole to get some metal out of the way. Once I did that, it did thread correctly.
I loved that this product was super easy to put together. Its not a real wood top, but thats ok because it wont leave water marks like my old table had. Would definitely recommend this!
