As the name implies, this Basics Fold-able Mattress Foundation with Box Spring and Steel Slats is a basic setup and that is the basis of my rating. It is five stars in the category of basic bed frames. It is as expected. That being said, this bed frame/box spring substitute is exactly what I needed. When I took over my parents place after they were no longer with us, the bed they had was hopelessly saggy and without support and I needed to add support under the mattress since the mattress wasnt the actual issue. This frame was exactly what we needed and the bed is now supportive enough to be comfortable. The frame goes together with basic tools. In fact, much of it is in slat form and can be put together with almost no tools. I use my rubber hammer to make sure all slats are lined up as flush as they could be. I see this as an economical solution for mattress support issues as well as a do it yourself opportunity for someone who isnt overly technical. It is easy to assemble and folds to an extent to allow you to save space if you are not currently using it.
This Foldable Bed bade is absolutely PERFECT to have for when company comes over. Not only does it set up very easily, but it stores so nicely too!!! Hardly taking up any space at all and so far everyone has loved it! People were honestly shocked when we revealed that it was a foldable base. Definitely worth every penny and great with a memory foam mattress, which can easily be rolled up for easy storage as well. Since it does fold up so compact, we have brought it along for our kids when we stayed with family. It was great to know they wouldnt fall out of a high bed, and were comfortable.
Very, very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it!!
At this point I cant see the listing for this bed frame (foundation) nor pricing so this is based entirely on my experience.
I got this bed for use in my spare bedroom. I had a cheap frame that my guests complained was too squeaky. This is a basic, solid, heavy frame. I thought the grey part of the bed was perhaps a wood frame but it is not, that is the base with a cloth cover over it. We put a wood board on top and then a mattress on the wood board to help with stability. The feet are a nice touch and make the bed look better than the straight frame this is replacing.
The instruction book that comes with this has care instructions in different languages (English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Chinese). Basic things like dont overtighten screws, take care when folding or unfolding, have an adult assemble, and use on level ground. The actual assembly instructions are in the back and consist of simple drawings but honestly they arent needed. Simply open the box, screw in the legs, open the frame, install the cross beams, put on the cloth cover and then put on the bracket at the corners. Done. The entire thing, including opening the box took about 15 minutes by myself.
This is a heavy bedframe, I needed help getting it to the room I wanted it in. Assembly was a breeze to do by myself. The frame is certainly more stable than my existing one but it does still squeak a little when sleeping on it. Placing the board under helped. I like that it is foldable and would be nice for guests, but you do still need the mattress so not sure how much space it truly saves.
Made in China.
This is pretty easy to put together, everything needed is provided and the directions are easy to follow. Dont need a ton of space to work in but it would probably be easiest to put this together in the room that it will be used in. if you cant I recommend waiting to put on the cover until you get it into position, just so you can easily grab the rails for moving.
Not super heavy when put together, we have a twin so the larger sizes may actually be two person required to move. This one a single person can move easily.
Takes maybe 15 minutes to assemble, everything went together easily, nothing had to be forced into position or fixed to work. All parts were included. The feet just screw into the frame. As you can see in my photos the frame is sitting both on tile and carpet when in position. Now, here. Is my issue. That carpet is pretty thick so the two feet near the wall are slightly raised. This bed wobbles, To correct this was easy I just had to adjust the feet.
Final two photos show the frame with the provided cover. Not going to lie this cover looks like a cheap car cover and I didnt want to put it on, I was shocked by how nice it looks on. Please note there are brackets provided to attach to the head of the bed (for me that is by the wall) that will allow you to attach a headboard. The instructions say to put the cover on first then attach those brackets. You can attach them first BUT when you put the cover on you must start at the head of the bed. There are holes in the cover to allow the brackets to protrude out. If you start at the foot and try to put the cover on over the brackets the cover will be damaged. This cover fits tightly, you will need to tug hard to get it on but it can be done and again looks way better then I thought it would.
Overall, its pretty durable, I have slept on it a few times and it is comfortable, perfect for a child or guest room.
I never knew a box spring could come in a long, narrow box just about the width of a bed. And it was very heavy, too. But when my husband opened it up, found the directions and put it together, like magic he had a full-sized box spring. Amazing! I have a mattress coming soon.
When we ordered this, our expectations was that it would be a foldable box spring as in easy storage. Unfortunately that is not the case. However, it does fold, so if you are in need of storing it then it is easy to take apart and would take up a tenth of the storage room as a full framed twin size boxspring. We ordered a beautiful bed frame for our daughters room, but we did not realize that it needed a boxspring, unlike her previous bed frame. We were able to use it for that and it made her bed so much more sturdy and comfortable. It took me approximately 20 minutes to put the whole thing together whereas we did not put the legs on it or the braces for a headboard. The hardest part of the whole ensemble was putting the cover over the frame. Three corners were easy to put the fabric over, but the fourth and final corner was such a tight fit that I was sweating after I finally got it on there. It is definitely an ideal boxspring and will be the only kind that I invest in going forward. It is very sturdy and can be assembled by just about anyone.
The base/frame of the box spring is foldable. It comes folded accordian style. This item also comes with steel slats, wo supports for the middle of the top and bottom section of the box spring, four legs, and a cover. The box spring is pretty sturdy. The steel slats slide into place. It would be best to use a mallet so theyll be flush with the box spring. You do the same with the two supports. I didnt add the legs because I was putting this box spring on top of a platform bed. The cover wasnt too difficult to put on, it just requires a little more effort when youre putting on the last two sides. The box spring is sturdy and Ive had np issues with it collapsing or shifting.
I had a different bed frame in my guest house and well, it failed after only 3 nights. So I got this frame, it was REALLY easy to put together, first screw the 9 feet on with no tools required, then flip it over and expand the frame, already assembled, then put in the 2 middle slats once again no tools then put in all the cross slats, once again with no tools. Then slide on the cover (optional but looks great) and then put on the headboard brackets. Thats it, you are done. Overall very easy, very stable, looks great, perfect for my guest room. Only reason I took a star off, the 4 screws, 4 washers, 2 brackets and allen wrench needed for the headboard brackets fell out of the packing and were loose in the box, they could have got lost in shipping. If can fix this packaging issue its def a 5 star item.

Works great but may need to level if not all on carpet
