I bought it for my 4 year old boy. It does not take up too much space. It was not too hard to build. I like it so far. I enjoy building things. If you dont like to build it might be hard. The open frame helps the room look more spacious. I did a 10 inch memory foam on the top and a 6 inch on the bottom bed. You can use a thicker or thinner mattress on the top. The bottom bed needs a 6 inch or less. The 6 inch with a fitted sheet fits perfectly. I also put a pool noodle behind the bottom bed because it might hit the wall and damaged it when you roll it in. The bed comes with two wood pieces the prevent the bed from rolling and hitting the wall but because I did a 6 inch mattress it did work for me. Overall I am very happy with the bed. If you are debating with what bed to get I highly recommend this one. I didnt need the extra bed but figured its not a bad idea to buy. I figured when my son gets older and has friends over it will be used. Easy to assemble just takes a while

Beautiful beds! We bought two and my husband and son/in/law put them together for our granddaughters. Very well/made, but be ready to assemble furniture. They look great!! The product is very attractive
