Not as comfy as it looks, unfortunately!

I am a 5 5 woman and my feet doesnt touch the floor when I sit on it. Thats disappointing because that makes it extremely uncomfortable; if you wanna give your back a support, your legs will be hanging in the air; not really elegant and if you want to have your feet on the floor you need to sit on the edge; very uncomfy. Of course, if you are a tall person (taller than me for at list 4 inches) you may find it more comfortable. The packaging, color, assembling, and the material were good; delivery was fabulous; on time and efficient. Needs improvement in quality.

    Mid Mod Yas!

Love the look! I have had the chair and ottoman for several weeks and they are very comfy. The gray and blue combo looks great together!

    Love the sofa!

I have the sofa chair in expectation grey so I knew exactly what to expect with the engage sofa. I equally liked both the colors, the expectation grey and the ure blue so I wasnt sure which color to pick. In the end I went with the ure blue color since I always wanted to get a blue sofa. There is a difference in the fabric between the expectation grey and the ure blue colors. The expectation grey has a more tweed like soft fabric while the ure blue has a more threaded fabric. I personally prefer the tweed like fabric on the expectation grey but I dont mind the fabric on the blue sofa either. So in terms of comfort it is a firm sofa which I dont mind at all, in fact I even like it. I am not looking for plushness so this works fine. The sofa is 90.5 inches and i live in a high rise apartment complex so the package didnt fit in the elevator and the delivery team had to get it through the stairs. One tip would be to reverse the cushions by removing the covers and zipping them up after the cushion is reversed so the firmness holds well for a long time. I also used scotchgard on my sofa and the sofa chair to protect against spills etc. It works great.

    Beautiful color and great quality

I purchased the couch, the armchair, and the ottoman. Everything arrived in perfect condition, all you have to do is put the legs on, which is super simple. They are firm but thats what I wanted. Colors are so pretty. I have a four year old who put them to the stain test within the first few days and they wiped clean really easily. Very happy with these purchases. Well built product

How to make this beautiful sofa comfortable

This sofa looks as great as its pictures and really completes my room with that Mid/Century Modern aesthetic. Unfortunately, the sofa is horribly uncomfortable. I mean it is like, unusably uncomfortable. But I look at this sofa and man it really is beautiful, so I figured I could fix the comfort side of things and have a solid comfortable sofa that fits my aesthetic. I have split this review into a few sections. Here we go: Why it is uncomfortable: to start with the seating level (height from floor to top of cushion) measures a whopping 20! You might ask, is that a big deal. I will tell you / it is a big F! deal. To compare most sofas are 17 to 18 inches tall. You might also ask Well, doesnt the foam cushion sink down a few inches when you sit on it. No! No, it doesnt. It doesnt move. It is softer than wood but has about the same give. I plan on cutting mine into fist size pieces and making stress balls out of it. So you sit down and you are 20 off the ground, now it gets really fun, or dumb, or just poorly designed. The seat cushion is 24 deep and meets the back support at a right angle. This means that if you were to sit down and scoot all the way back, first you will appear to be in an uncomfortable position (you are) second the position you are in will make you want to lift your legs higher, but guess what. you cant. Do you want to know why. Because you f! feet dont touch the floor. I am of average height (510) and my feet do not touch the floor when sitting all the way back on this torcher couch. So what do you do now. You have the couch/sofa of your aesthetic dreams but you cant sit on it without losing your mind. Go back to (or whatever) and start looking for some throw pillows. Youre going to need a lot of them. Get some 20x20 some 16x16 and some 12x20 pillows. At least two of each. Next, do a search for memory foam for cushions high density and pick something at least 80 long and 24 wide. I would recommend 5 thick. Look for this number in the description 44ILD Firm. Dont be scared by the Firm description, it is nice and soft. Also, get some Upholstery Batting to fill in the last inch and make the new cushions fill out the covers. BTW the cushion covers and upholstery are really well constructed and have a 3.5/star feel. You will also need a utility blade or ror blade to cut the foam. Dont use scissors . just trust me, the ror is way easier. Now cut the foam to fit, cover the foam with the batting and shove them into the cushion covers. Scatter the pillows around and have a much/deserved seat. Is it comfortable. Well, it is way better than is was and only cost about 100 / 150 in supplies. Not bad! Okay, now for the real deal. This is going to get a little hard so if your happy at this point, just stop reading. I am (as you may have guessed) still not as comfortable as I want to be on this beauty yet. The next step for me will be to flip the sofa over and remove the feet. I think you might know where I am heading with this. First, do you have a compound miter saw. I do. I also like to fix and build things so this might not be for everyone. On the flip side if you were looking for a good reason to buy a compound miter saw, well now you have one. The plan is to take about an inch off of each foot. (the sofa is still too high) I am going to set up a jig to help make each cut the same. I have not finished this part yet, I plan to do it this week and will update the review. On the plus side, the foot construction for the sofa is a quality design in that they are all identical. Cool, right! Okay, more to come. To sum this up: 5 stars for the aesthetic look (mid/century modern) I love how this sofa looks. Just a beaut Clark. 1 star for comfort. Truly unusably torturously uncomfortable. (this is not a joke, you will be disappointed) 3.5 stars for the overall construction. The quality construction was the reason I decided to augment this sofa into a usable piece of furniture/art instead of returning it. So, if you dont want to fix a brand new purchase to make it usable DONT buy this sofa. If like me the 750 price tag and the gorgeous mid/century aesthetic are what interested you and you are good at fixing stuff then pull the trigger now. You have your next project and a reason to buy that compound miter saw you have been thinking about. Plus throw pillows are really fun. I mean pillow fights are just the beginning. You can get all kinds of covers for them. You can get a print of your favorite animal, or person, or whatever on a custom magic pillow. You can make a theme sofa like Star Wars or a holiday sofa full of autumnal images. Do you like the beach. You can cover all those pillows in shells and sea/horses. The options are limitless. I think there is even an AI that combines the most searched images into an algorithm and prints custom covers. Roll the dice yall. But heres the thing, you are going to need throw pillows, lots of them. Peace. /EchoArk

    Its ok / not great

Looks lovely, exactly as in pics. However, my main gripe is comfort / it is not built for this. Back is quite a way back, and the seat height is some 19 inches / quite high (well above the 14 inches the former sofa this replaced was), something I wish I noted before buying. Overall effect is I find my feet just about reach the floor when I sit back, and I need to sit well back in the chair with a large cushion to feel any level of comfort (leading to an overall uncomfy position / FYI I am 5 6). I find myself slipping forward when I sit like this, as my back is so far back leaning at an angle. The only way I can get any sort of comfort is by raising my legs up / typically putting my feet on the coffee table in front. The cushions are also the hardest I have ever sat on. In the long term, this could mean they keep their shape, but meantime they add to the non/comfy feel. This is not a sofa you sink in to by any means. Otherwise, it fit the bill and looks nice. I ended up keeping the sofas (i bought 2) as couldnt be hassled with the return and was ok with the compromise. I ended up getting two armchairs of a different design placed next to the sofas that are super comfy, so those are what I sit on mostly. Rest of my family are ok with the sofas, though. Overall you got what you paid for.

    Five stars

Deep seat, sturdy back, firm. Itll keep its beautiful shape and appearance but will not be the softest couch youve ever sat on. Its beautiful and I love it.
