I gambled a bit on these as the price was very low compared to like products available at sporting goods stores.
I use these for river fishing. They held up very well the first time that I used them this past weekend. About 5 hours in the water with no leaks.
I am 6, 1 and 215 lbs and normally wear a size 12 shoe, so I ordered the size 12. These are 12 on the dot; I did expect a little more room in the boot, would probably go with a 13 if I order again. The overall fit is good, fairly snug when bending down but you dont want to swim in your waders when moving through the water. The extra/wide shoulder straps are good, belt is good, and the wader hanger (for storing) is an additional value. The front pocket is fairly small, okay for my cell phone license but dont plan on putting any gear in there. Traction in a very rocky stretch of river was really good, overall comfort of the boots is just so/so. I will probably add some type of insole or cushion from my hunting boots or muck boots to help with that.
Overall, for the money these seem to be really well/made for the price and a great value compared to Frogg Toggs or a like manufacturer that youd find in a sporting goods retailer. yes we like it.
Ive had a few pairs over the years. One neoprene that was too heavy but great for raccoon hunting, and a couple that were all rubber all the way up. They were heavy and hot. They did hold up for years though. These appear to be rubber coated nylon and they are much lighter. They are easy to move in and are water tight. The boot size was perfect. My favorite things about it though, were the details. The hanger for drying and storage is a great touch. The addition of the safety belt was a great thought. Everyone should use one and its nice you dont have to buy one separately. Very easy to set up!
I live on a lake and wanted these to help me wade in the water. I needed ones that werent going to leak and sturdy enough that the rubber shoes could deal with any rocks or other obstacles that reside on the bottom. For the price that I paid, I expected the material to be thinner, but was pleasantly surprised on the toughness and quality. I got size 9men, and the boots feel a bit big, but I suppose if it was cooler out and I wanted to wear socks, then it would have fit better. Overall, I would buy them again. And on a funny note / my wife thought that I looked straight out of backwoods magine and she couldnt stop laughing. Made my day. My son loves it!!
I got a size smaller as I like to have a more snugged feel for waders, similar to bowling shoes. My previous one broke on the boot where the shoe bend. This one feels higher quality and I fished 4 hours with it on the surf without any leaks. I didnt catch any striped bass, but managed to get a few perch. I would recommend hosing it down if you are surf fishing since salt water are hard on the material. Very well made.
Update/ they sent me a new pair! Theres a small hole in the right leg above the boot, so when I wore them into the water my leg and pants got wet. Worth the price !!!
Ive use the waders a few times and they work great! The boots themselves dont have a ton of support but what do you expect for 40. Also I am 61 and the legs could use to be a little bit longer its not a problem standing and walking but when I crouch down the crotch area rides up a bit. But again for 40 highly recommend it Well made, easy to assemble and useful.
i have bought my first Wader from the local Big 5 sporting goods and it cost me 79.00 plus tax the quality of this new high chest warders is by far much better. in both quality and price . material is thicker and warmer. best part is the price is nearly half of the market price. its highly recommended. i will be using it to clean my swimming pool and lakeside fishing. Solid and basic.
