I love this cage. The spacing between bars is definitely to wide for small rats. I bought wire from Lowes and used it to cover the gabs. So it works perfectly now. Super easy to clean. Has a pull out base that wipes clean. I use puppy pads and wipe down. Takes 2 people to assemble otherwise it wasnt that hard. My 70lb dog ran into it while playing and it didnt move at all.
Love the cage but its not for baby rats. When I put them in there one of them walked right through the bars luckily I was standing there cause she walked right in my hand
Works great for my full grown male rats. Bar spacing is wide so females and small males should NOT be housed in this cage, they will escape. Definitely not big enough for a ferret or chinchilla. The tray at the bottom is NOT deep whatsoever and bedding gets pushed out constantly. Assembly was very easy, taking only 15 minutes. I like the cage for my boys but I wouldnt recommend using it for anything other than fat male rats
I personally had a hard time figuring out how the little shelf steps set up, but once I figured it out the rest were easy! Other than that the rest was very simple to set up. Gives my chinchilla a lot of space to run/climb! Love it!
So I really love this cage. Its compact fits nicely in a standard apt closet. Its also on wheels! You can roll the cage, (doors open) next to the bed. Cage has top and bottom access. When youre assembling the cage be sure to carefully look over any gaps. The bottom crate ramps are not comfortable for your ferrets pads. You will NEED to get covers for the ramps, Standard covers will not fit these ramps, they are too small. I found some mop swifter covers at the dollar store and they are a perfect fit for these ramps. I have also had to take needle nose pliers to the ramps to keep them in place. When you get the cage set up, watch your ferret to be certain its 100 safe. This cage is NOT for baby ferrets unless you put the ramps up later. I watched my 3month ferret nose dive from the top level.
I purchased this cage for my ferret and she absolutely loves it I love it also I like the fact that she can see everybody and everything around her at all times I also love the fact that its easy to interact with her while shes in the cage the only problem that I have is the width of each individual level. The landing platforms in the cage are just not wide enough I had to take two of them and zip tie them together so that she can have a platform to sleep on so that took away from it being a four/level cage to a three/level cage with all this extra room up top thats not being used another downfall is because of the small width of the shelves and she not having enough room she pulls all of her bedding down to the bottom floor where she uses the bathroom and gathers up all of her bedding stuff down there to where she can have room to actually lay but to me that is defeating the purpose of using the bathroom on the bottom of the cage if shes going to also feel the need to use that part of the cage as a place to sleep also.

Came in pieces top was a little too big to screw in so my ferret gets out and to slow for my Ferret in my opinion but other then that its alright

Good Cage
