I love this bed and it is worth it 100 if you need to save space. The stars are wide and very sturdy like the bed. It is hard to put together and it is a 3/4 person job for sure. But my dad was very happy with all the hard wear that came with it and is very happy with the bed. Also you have to pay attention to the instructions, they are kind of confusing and some steps have a lot to them.
Solid , no cheap flimsy pieces in this piece!! Box was damaged upon delivery but all pieces were well packaged and in perfect condition! This bed is so well built that I can have slumber parties on it with my daughter and the bed feels solid and isnt the least bit creaky. The sides where the mattress sits isnt very tall so we put up bed rails just to make me feel more comfortable. Very happy with our purchase!
We bought this bed for our daughter, so she would have more room to play in her bedroom. We loved that it has stairs, and we would not have to worry about her climbing up and down a ladder. So I said goodbye to 1100 and ordered this bed. Then the adventure began.
This bed is shipped via Fed Ex, and until this shipment, Id never had a problem with Fed Ex. The bed comes packaged into 3 boxes / 2 for the bed and 1 for the stairs. The boxes are far to heavy for your average person to safely handle on his/her own. Thank god the boxes were doubly wrapped because the outer wrapping was fairly destroyed in transit.
All 3 boxes were shipped from Canada to North Carolina at the exact same time. We received the 2 bed boxes at the same time. Building the bed was rather difficult as the red stamped labels on the ends of the pieces were not all correct. A few different versions were miss/stamped. The directions are just pictures with numbers / no wording. After putting the from the 2 boxes together, we realized we were missing a 3rd box for the stairs.
Anxiously we awaited for the 3rd box. Every morning and evening I would check Fed Exs tracking site, and every time I was met with disappoint. The website, nor Fed Exs customer service could tell me what happened with the 3rd box.
After 8 days, I magically appeared in Tennessee. Upon entering a main warehouse in NC, Fed Ex shipped the box an hour west and AWAY from us. The next day, it was shipped 45 SOUTH of us / literally passing our town! The next it was delivered. This box was torn up worse than the other 2 boxes. Again it was far to heavy for what 1 box should have been. Two pieces were broken thanks to virtually no packing material and rough handling. Other pieces were scratched or dented as well. Thankfully, my working husband saved the day, and managed to repair the 2 pieces. I set to building the stairs. The screws were mislabeled for what we needed to put where. Some of the pieces were again miss/stamped.
We have had the bed for a little over a month now (minus a week for the stairs) and so far the only complaint I have is the difficulty of changing the sheets. I realize this company is not at fault for Fed Ex losing our box and then shipping it to other random cities after it was found, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I did take off 1 star due to: the bad and too heavy of packaging, resulting in damaged pieces; as well as, miss/stamped/mislabeled pieces and hardware.
This was one of the few beds that had all the attributes I was looking for. Had an issue with the shipping (hence 4 stars) but was great at responding and taking care of the situation! Many thanks to them!
I got this despite some reviews of it being difficult to put together and some questionable sturdiness. My husband put it together in 1 day and needed my assistance 2 times. We also got a couple of right angles to help support the bed frame. My pre/teen is one of the bigger scholars in their class. Its sturdy enough for them. I recommend for a smaller room that needs more space for distance learning sections and desk space.
I give a three because it took very long time to get the furniture delivered . You should count 3 hours for the bed and 4/5 hours for the stairs. One of the parts was broken so it took an extra three weeks to get it done. I am also getting an bill of 395 from UPS for delivery. Its been a headache
I love this bed. I am in my early twenties and needed a bed because my room is very small. I also really wanted a bed with stairs because I am in my early twenties and did not want to climb up a ladder after a long hectic day. I absolutely love this bed. I love the storage under the stairs. Me and my boyfriend are super comfortable playing video games and watching movies while sitting up in my . Absolutely obsessed. May need to buy another for when I have my own house. Perfect for a bedroom or office!
The bed is great, however, we had trouble with the largest piece of for the stairs being damaged (3attempts made to ship it/replace it) but every one of them were damaged even though it said Fragile on the box. So this will probably be my last online bed shipment. Sellers were understanding and tried to fix it, but shipping did a number on every attempt. My daughter loves the bed and we settled on the least damaged of the 3 and put it together.
We love the bed however after a month or so the steps started to split from walking down it and starting to break on steps. We have not had anybody on the steps that weighed more than a 155 pounds. When the shipment first arrived, it came in we already have a use are glue on different parts of the frame. We had no problem fixing that we understand it came from a different country. But this should not be happening after a few months.
Once assembled, it looks great, and its durable enough to handle the weight of an average 13 year old easily. The only issue was that the directions dont match the parts well. The cross members are smaller than the ones in the directions and require fewer fasteners. Also, there werent enough screws left by the time we were assembling the drawers, so we had to get other screws. In addition, the directions dont show which way to orient many of the boards. Though the product is nice when the assembly is done.
