We had no trouble assembling the chair. I like that it is not a big bulky chair like most recliners. There is the separate footstool but it feels like a recliner but easier. You gently push the stool to the side and can get up and out quickly. I chose the light leather and hope stay ahead by cleaning per directions. Ive had it a month, hopefully I will get a lot of wear from it. Nice fit.
