Not super sturdy. This chair was REALLY comfortable. Right off the bat, the zipper was starting to come un/stitched from the base annoying, but not life altering issue. Now, the next part might be because my kids are not dainty little girls, so I dont know that I can 100 fault the chair We had this thing for two, maybe three months and the mechanism that makes it snap into place up and down busted out. Basically it just lays there. Again, I cant say that my kids had nothing to do with it, but for the money, I would hope it would stand up a little better. BUT, we did keep the detachable cushion, because it is the dogs FAVORITE place to sleep we lost a chair, but gained a (EXPENSIVE) dog bed. Life lessons learned. Would I get it again? Yes. Would I allow my kids to sit on it? NOT A CHANCE, unless they sit and dont move. And, they are kids, so that will TOTALLY happen right?
