I put it together by myself and it was pretty easy, although there was a little swearing involved with a couple of the steps. Those steps, like attaching the back to the base frame, would have been easier with two people. But I did get it done by myself and its solid. Trundle rolls really easy, but its not on a guided track so you might have to monkey it a bit too get it back under the daybed. I bought two 8 inch twin mattresses and they fit. I do have to keep the door to that room closed because the cat thinks that the space between the trundle and the bottom of the daybed is the perfect space to lie in wait to surprise the dog.
