This is a perfect restrictive access safe for firearms, ammunition, and medications. Its large enough to hold multiple size and types of weapons along with ammunition, but small enough to mount in a closet or corner without worrying about weight restrictions or difficult placements. The mounting holes are convenient and well thought out, making it easy to securely mount the safe on wood or cement. Once mounted its very solid and stable. Multiple access options ensured me that I would be able to get in even if i lost the key or forgot my PIN.
This is not a burglary safe, as cutting through the steel walls would only take a grinder, but the contents cannot easily be access without tools and a lot of effort. The ability to turn off the key-press beep was important to me, as any firearm safe should be accessible in the dark and in silence. The interior is always dark due to its length and depth, but this was easily fixed with a battery powered stick-on light. The interior lock box with a separate key is a really nice touch, allowing two levels of controlled access. The enameled and painted surface feels solid and high quality, and the locking hardware snaps into place with a comfortable click. This is especially important given that the lack of keypad backlighting (my only complaint) means I might be opening this in the dark.
I was really hesitant to purchase anything less than a tank given that many flimsy steel cabinets are labeled as safes.
