We needed a safe for handguns and rifles that were under 40. The primary purpose was to secure the guns properly, second was a good place for storage with 2 shelves and third was to have it fit our buying criteria: under $500 and not too heavy. This safe is perfect for our needs. We did not require a fire proof safe. We bolted it to the concrete floor and will add a brace to the back wall to improve sturdiness. The only that went wrong with the order was that it was delivered 3-5 days BEFORE expected delivery!
