I had my wife help me carry it into the house and I was pretty impressed after unpacking it. It was well packed with good plastic corner protectors, think hard-board long corner edge guards along the height. The bottom had a also foam and hard board edge guards. No dings no dents on the way here and the KEY is the bottom did NOT scratch my hard-wood floor.
As for metal thickness, its not a safe ..Its meant to protect your firearms from people casually getting to them. If youre looking for a hard-core safe..youd have to pay thousands. This was good quality for the price. I usually refuse to pay shipping on most purchases so that any seller has to fret about the returns but this one was worth paying for.
Combination safe works fine..Was a bit confused on how to find the reset button but no lag on the lock and pretty easy to program.
