Update: I always questioned the durability and longevity of the LED lights. After owning this umbrella for a few months, they are still going strong. In fact, I came home after a storm to find the umbrella at the bottom of our pool. After retrieving the umbrella at the bottom of the deep end, I assumed the lights would not work. I was wrong. The lights still work. I was very surprised.
This umbrella is awesome! Lights are bright enough to provide accent light but does not blind you or attract bugs. The installation is easy, BUT make sure you unscrew the solar panel from the top of the umbrella. There is a small wire with plug that is not connected during the manufacturing process. You need to unscrew the solar panel at the top of the umbrella, which reveals a small wire and plastic plug. Plug this into the main umbrella, which connects to the power source in the umbrella. Now screw the solar panel back into the top of the umbrella and you are in business. This created frustration when I couldnt figure out how to turn on the light the first night. I was about to return it u til I found the instructions. But I admit, I never read instructions and like to figure things out. Trust me, read the instructions. You will not figure this out on your own. Very easy to install. Also, read the warning about how to tilt the umbrella. If you keep your finger on the button while tilting the umbrella, it can damage the wires. Press the button and release. We buy a lot of umbrellas and this one appears to be high quality. Enjoy!
