This was even better than I expected for an online purchase This is really nice looking and actually made if real wood. The slats are unfinished pine and do not seem as strong as the rest of the frame. Fine for sleeping, if an 190 lb adult steps on it to get to the bed above it it seems like a slat could possibly break. If so Home depot or Lowes can cut a 1x2 board to replace a slat.
Overall I am extremely pleased with the look and quality of this trundle. A twin mattress fits perfectly .
