The futon is a very attractive piece of furniture. However, it is uncomfortable to sit on and even more uncomfortable to lay on. I added a 11/2 inch mattress topper to no avail. The futon is extremely firm, and uncomfortable. I gave it to my brother as a housewarming gift. I wish I could return it for a less firm futon. Three Stars.
