Just want to add some comments to help others considering this bed...
Overall, I like the bed and would purchase for my daughter again. I am a little concerned about how much weight this can hold since some parts dont look very strong to me (ex. the rails holding the mattress).
Ive had to air out my daughters room for a few days now to get the smell to go away. Its not that the smell is so bad that youll get nauseous or anything along those lines but the paint has a strong smell that cant be good for you.
The pink cloth panels have a plastic window that I imagine will get torn if you put in the washer. I would have liked to wash them before putting on the bed.
Assembly took me a while (didnt time it) since I did it by myself. Its definitely something that can be put together by one person if you go slow and if you use the walls to lean parts on or clamps. I just used the walls... I would use a drill but make sure you put it in a low setting since you can easily make the screws dig into the wood.
The last thing is that you might need to buy some screws. The screws that came with this bed did not work for the stairs because they were too short and/or the holes predeilled were too big. I had what I needed so I didnt need to spend more money but its not something that I should have had to do.
Not perfect but Id buy again
