Very compact. We LOVE these bunk beds. We are a blended family with 4 kids between us. 3 of them are girls, who are close in age. We need to find a solution to keep them in the same room. I found these and the price couldnt be beat! The construction is sturdy. Putting them together took about 3 hours for all 3. We dont have them setup as a triple bunk. We have them setup as a double and single bunk. The girls LOVE them and they have been a perfect solution !! The single bunk has tons of storage under it! So we can hide all the toys under the bed. We currently have 4 laundry baskets of toys under it.
