Great STURDY bed BUT HEAVY : read my review not just 5 stars
Ok Ill start off by saying this is a great bed. This is the first one I owned so Ill like it no matter what, but no its sturdy! I have tried jumping up and down on it. Im 185lbs. It didnt budge/creak. Thats the good part, so it gets a 5 star
BUT and a BIG BUTT
delivered it downstairs. I live on the third floor and my apartment community doesnt have elevators! This easily weighs 50lbs (maybe even more) and its not like a dumbbell shaped mass. The big rectangular box was a PAIN TO CARRY upstairs. I blame for it not the bed, but still. That was not fun.
And that wasnt even the worst part. Putting it together took me 2 hours. With another friend helping me. And were both supposedly smart people being engineers and what not. Goodness, the instructions were ok but following them was not easy. Also they are sometimes out of sequence which meant parts of it needed to be redone!! And taking the screws off is a bigger pain (physical and mental) than putting it together. And for Gods sake the numbering of the screws could not be weirder.
If you happen to take them all out of the bag at the same time, thats it. You can kiss your hopes of putting this bed together goodbye.
But thankfully, they were labeled correctly. Although weirdly 2-5-6-1-B-3 or what not, but it was mapped correctly. So FOLLOW THAT MAPPING. Dont act smart and dont take stuff out of the bad unless you are told to. All equipment required for fitting come with the bag (including the Alan key and the wrench). In fact there is exactly 1 extra screw which was also a source of much confusion.
Again none of this takes anything away from the quality of the bed. Its legit good! Especially if you have a house and dont play to move because I cant see myself dismantling this and then putting this all together when I move. Ill likely just sell it when I move. But as long as Im using it, I expect it to hold up!
Not that its just been 2 days so I may be overly excited and there is a chance the 5 star rating goes down later, but for now Im loving it. Especially after putting so much effort into it.
