I chose this couch because it was in my budget it was one of the few couches where a decent amount of reviews mentioned how comfortable it is. my roommate liked that the seat cushion was just one cushion rather than two because they dont like falling in the crevice. i should note that i just set it up and havent had time to really abuse it and give it some good use, but here are first impressions. ill come back and edit the review in month intervals to give an accurate picture to future consumers, but it feels great so far. i have a set of black sofa chairs i bought from that i bought two months ago that have been super comfy, so i figured that getting a decent couch on was possible with some review research.
delivery: this is out of the direct control of the manufacturers and producers, but i did want to note that i ordered it on the 14th and it arrived on the 19th. it came in one box and in 4 major parts. i live on the ground floor and the box wasnt too heavy for me to drag it inside.
assembly: once I got the box into my living room, I opened it and took out each major part. the assembly process was the same as the assembly for the two sofa couches i bought earlier, so i figure that this is a standardized method for couches in this range. were four main sections of the sofa in the box: 1) the seat cushion, 2) the backrest, 3 and 4) the arm rests. when you turn the seat upside down, theres a compartment that you can unzip the cushions and box of legs screws are inside. i included a pic of the assembly instructions, but it was super simple. i was able to assemble it alone. i live in a duplex this couch was going in the downstairs, so i wanted something that came in parts, was not too heavy, and was easy to disassemble. this sofa is great for college students or people who frequently move.
appearance: very cute! obviously doesnt look high end because it isnt high end, but it doesnt look unfinished, used or like it is disposable. i think the biggest tell in some ways is the arm rests because theyre less thick than traditional couches and are shorter. as you can see in the images, it has a middle seam rather than two seams, which is not common and provides less support. there are some stray loose threads, but nothing that threatens the look of the couch or its structural integrity. these shortcomings doesnt really matter to me and i still find the couch to be incredibly adorable. the back cushions dont cover the entire back of the couch, but its not super noticeable and honestly if youre sitting in it, it doesnt matter. if youre looking at it, it is easily concealed. this basement has terrible lighting, so it either looks blush or like a darker and rosey . images in other reviews reflect the couch well. your lighting will help make it pop or dull its appearance.
comfort: overall it is a bit of a short couch. im 53 and the backrest is mid-back for me. the couch will be against a wall (im moving it from that wall in the image), so my head and back would be supported anyway. people have noted that the seat cushion is firm. i was afraid it was going to be uncomfortable and that i wouldnt want to sit in it for long, but its honestly perfect. i have scoliosis, so a firm surface is great for me. its not rock hard, but not as forgiving as memory foam. its in that middle ground leaning towards firm, though a better word might be supportive. the seat is made of coils some sort of cushioning foam, but its not as plush as down or cotton fill. it wont mould around your body, but we didnt care about that as much as we cared about having seating for guests. you can comfortable lounge, lay back, read and even sleep. cushion it with throw pillows and your favorite blanket youre good for the night. i cant speak for anyone taller than me but i can see myself knocking out on this. i wont be spending my entire day on it but it will be easy to lounge on this. the material is more suede like than velvet, but thats likely the more comfortable of the option. the pillows are much softer than the seat and are super comfy
overall 10/10 for the price how it meets our needs
great option for college students frequent movers
