We probably werent ready to have a split king. We like to snuggle up and the gap between these soft, rounded edge mattresses is big enough to make you feel like youre falling in a canyon in the middle of the night. The bases work fine, mattresses comfortable, but for some reason the bases (covered wood sections) smell horrible. Like vomit mixed with urine. I thought the smell would go away after awhile when the scent would fade and take on the smell of the room. Nope. A month and a half and we have to explain to house guests what the smell is in the living room. Yes, its that strong. No idea why it smells so bad, but the manufacturing process really needs to be looked at on the bases.
