Arrived safe and sound. all the wood was nice, no chips or cracks. It came with the right number of pieces and hardware. Looks great.
My only real concern is that the main support beams are connected to the frame with a little metal bracket that is only attacked to the frame with (4) small, gold, screws. The piece of wood (on the frame) that the bracket is attached to is pretty thin too. not quite as sturdy as I would have hoped. The kids that will be sleeping in the bed are 40lbs and 25lbs so Im sure they will be fine BUT I may be updating my review post wear and tear.
I also dont like the vertical ladder thats built into the frame. I would like it better if it leaned on the bed and was easier to climb. But I knew thats how it was designed when I purchased it.
It took my husband and I (2) hours on the dot to put it all together. We took our time, had a snack break, even stopped midway through to take apart the queen sized bed already in the room (that the bunk bed is intended to replace), all the while, with a 2 and 4 years old in the room helping. I read some reviews that said it took 6/9 hrs to install. I dont even know how thats possible. However, this is definitely a two person job. cant praise it enough!
