I didnt, at first, and roached one of the peg holes. Fortunately it is out of sight, and doesnt affect the overall strength of the unit. I ordered baskets to fit the s, from . Hope they fit. I want to use all the space possible, and leave as little wasted space as possible. I would say go ahead and get this. Its strong enough for an adult bench, and looks fine in my country house (which has white woodwork, etc) Youd definitely want to make a padded cushion for the top if using it as a bench, though. I anticipate using mine more as a table and storage unit, but will have seat cushions handy in case I need added seating / / perfect for kids. Nice size.
