This is an excellent product. Some of the other reviews about things falling down or falling apart is pure installation error. If you dont mount to wall studs, you will suffer the same fate. Also, the product is rated to support 100 pounds. Do not treat this as a floor based TV stand. Your giant 80 tv is no match for gravity.
My wall was uneven, so I had to install additional washers (not included in kit) between the wall and the stud plate. I also had to drill a custom hole in the metal plate as the pre-drilled holes didnt line up perfectly with the stud locations. Lastly, I added extra washers (not included in kit) between the stud screws and the metal plate for increased weight distribution.
Lastly, I drilled several holes on the top and sides of this product in order to hide the wires more cleanly. So far, it is holding up just fine. I realize I may be compromising the structural integrity, but a clean looking install is worth the risk.
