It was fairly simple to set up. Lots of little slats to tap in. Make sure you start on one end for top and bottom and work your way to the other end concurrently. My only complaint is that it sits extremely low to the ground. So the bottom bunk is practically on the floor. Otherwise, it is a beautiful bunk bed for elementary school age kids.
