Not sure how this product was manufactured and packaged, but there seemed to be like some rust colored dust. The overall shelving unit doesnt appear to be rusted. The box product arrived in wasnt damaged. Just the rust colored dust was very off putting and required the wearing of gloves while wiping down. Other than that shelving assembled as expected and appears to be working as expected.
