Looks gorgeous and easy to assemble. My initial plan was to purchase this futon mattress to be used as a couch that can be converted to a bed in case I have guests. I did plan to use it for a while during the time I researched a higher-end mattress for daily use. For comparisons sake I was willing to spend in the $2600 range for a good mattress. I am sure some people will spend more, but for me thats quite a bit of money.
Although I cannot yet vouch for its longevity I can say that in the last couple of weeks since I bought it I fallen asleep almost instantly and woken up feeling refreshed and without any back stiffness. Keep in mind that I moved from a house with multi-acre lots and virtually no noise to an apartment that is close enough to hear train whistles throughout the night and I was a very light sleeper beforehand.
I was concerned that the mattress was going to be too soft as it is s softest futon mattress, but I am glad I made this choice. Like other reviews (not just on ) have stated, this futon mattress is still quite firm. An additional advantage to the mattress being softer is that it can still be manipulated quite easily (in my opinion) into the couch position. I had read comments in other reviews that the firmer futon mattresses by s feel like sleeping on a carpeted floor -- I did not want that. If I wanted the feeling of sleeping on a carpeted floor I would sleep on a carpeted floor. It is possible that because I have a relatively muscular rear that I need the extra softness for my spine to conform properly, so keep in mind that your body shape might make a difference in the firmness you need.
At this point I see no need to purchase a real bed unless this mattress does not hold up. If I feel the need for another mattress I may very well get another one of these.
The only difficulty with this mattress is in finding a slipcover that fits. If someone has suggestions on that front other than making my own I would appreciate it. I do know someone who can make them, but having the option to buy would be helpful information just in case.
I saw another review that stated it is not Queen size. I wonder if that person got the wrong sized mattress, because when I got it I placed it on top of my existing queen-sized bed to compare and they are exactly the same. A measuring tape confirmed this as well.
Im finally getting restful sleep
