The material is actually very soft and nice. The chair rises and tilts. The tilt locks only in the upright position. It feel sturdy enough for the job. Its just missing some niceties that a more expensive chair would have. Mine also had a cracked piston cover. The cover is very thin plastic and quite flimsy, but its just aesthetic. There are also some frayed threads, which is acceptable in this price range.
