Very easy to put together. The white gloves did come in handy because of the residual metal dust that was on this. Should be fine for kids as long as they dont hang off of it. Mine is currently holding up 2 canopys, a bed skirt, 2 different pairs of lights and some artificial flowers and I have had no problems in the 2 months that Ive had this so far. I do think it should be cheaper. 80 dollars for thin metal bars is a little pricey but I got them anyways because they had the better reviews out of the 3 I was looking at.
