this was fairly easy to assemble, although we used a drill rather that the Allen key provided as we would have been assembling it all day had we not. our child (3yo) loves the loft bed with a good hiding area/reading nook underneath. The drawers on the dresser are slightly less sturdy than other aspects of this, and we try to be careful when opening and closing them.
