Good loveseat, better than . The new do-it-yourself line of furniture.
This is a new lower-end style of sofa (in this case, a loveseat) . The finished product looks great and feels pretty good. It is guaranteed to hold 250lbs per seat, and it feels sturdy. The cushion covers (aka the upholstery) are just as pictured and are a nice quality fabric. It is a pleasure to touch them and rub your fingers over them. And assembly is only 20-30 minutes. Much easier than has been in the past, and the package includes throw pillows, which are nice.
This couch is mostly constructed of wood and wood products. This is a big plus over other furniture made by the same company but marketed differently. We received an Elle Decor sofa that was so badly damaged in transit that it had to be junked. That one had a frame made of metal, which was dented beyond repair. This one shipped better and the wood made aligning the holes for the thumb screws (yes, I know, an unfortunate moniker) much easier.
The pillows have to expand before you use it. Follow the suggestions and air them outside first. They smell a bit. But they are comfortable. Not as dense and comfortable as the Elle Decor sofa cushions, mind you. But fine.
Just a few notes. The legs are wooden and screw in to the frame. That is a plus. They are solid chunks and provide for a lot of support of the loveseat. However, they have small plastic circles on the bottom of each leg. This makes the loveseat slide around. Removing them with pliers is a good idea and replacing them with foam pads or the like. We did this in about 5 minutes.
Aligning the thumb screws to put the pieces together is the most frustrating part of the assembly. You need to know this going in so that you do not force the pieces too hard. Just have another person push on the arm pieces or the back slightly and move it slowly until the holes align. Also, pay attention to the diagram (the instructions are helpful and clear) as it is easy to put something in backwards. The bottom of the sofa slides into the arm pieces (not the other way around). This last piece of info would have helped a bit.
Overall, the loveseat looks good and the label is fitting. The springs on the bottom of the sofa do seem like they will hold up.
For its price point, this is a good choice.
