My house was lost in the fire of Oct 2017. I bought one of these stools to see if I liked it well enough to purchase 5 more for my new island. It arrived with a slice in the wood arm but I had it for a month before unpacking it waiting for my son to visit and put it together. I reported the defect and was immediately sent a new seat. However, I now can't figure out how to take the old seat off. I do not feel it is that comfortable. The seating area is too small. I am stuck with it but my fault for buying it online without a chance to try it out.
