Shortly after unboxing this, my face started to itch. I am sensitive to chemicals like formaldehyde and other finishing chemicals, and this had to go out of the house immediately. The bed itself looked nice enough for the price--the upholstering was a bit wonky, but you could probably fix it with a staple gun. No one would confuse the fabric with linen, but it had an interesting sharkskin sheen to it. The bed slats are hardwood and the rest seemed to be a metal-like plastic, or a plastic coated metal. I will stick with West Elm and other purveyors of furniture that promise very low outgassing.
If you are sensitive to chemicals, not for you
