I made this purchase for a spare bedroom. Came in two boxes that had old tape. Looked as if it had been returned. I wore gloves and noticed immediately that there was a couple of handprints and a couple stains of unknown origin, and also a few extremely black hairs. Gross. There is no way I could have returned the item alone so, I tried to ignore it. Because I feared there may be an issue with bed bugs, based on other reviews, I placed all parts in the garage on plastic first and then sprayed all parts with bed bug spray. I left in the garage overnight. After that I used water and diluted cleaning solution to remove the stains. Then I sprayed everything with stain repellant. I brought everything inside, one piece at a time and placed each item on the rug. I then sprayed everything with bug spray a second time and left it overnight. The next day a friend came over to help. We watched a few YouTube videos and made it through the assembly process. It took about 1.5 hours. Regarding the issue of sturdiness, even with the mattress on the bed, I can push the bed around with just one leg. To me, that doesn't mean read sturdy. The wooden slats also don't appear sturdy. I would definitely be concerned if more than one person at a time slept on the bed. I do not like the fabric. The linen looks cheap and I wish I had chosen another fabric and also a bed that has a T-bar for the metal part. This bed only has one bar not two under the mattress. Seems the cross bar feature would make for a more sturdy bed, especially for high capacity people or couples. I'm not sure how long the bed will last. I've slept on the bed twice to be able to write a fair review. Overall, the bed sleeps fine for a spare, but I wanted a bit more than that. If this had been a smaller item and it arrived with hair and handprints, I would have returned it. That's the issue with big or heavy purchases, the headache associated with the return process is what makes accepting flaws easier than it should be. The lower rating is due to the issues I've mentioned.
