This bed was purchased for a guest bedroom. Directions were clear and it was east to put together. I recommend putting plywood top of the slats to make the base more sturdy. We did this for both the bed and trundle. The trundle is being used for storage of quilts and daybed bedding storage when in use. If we decide that we need another mattress we will purchase. We have a 10 mattress on top. Very sturdy bed. Would definitely buy again.
