In general, beds simply are not comfortable no matter the quality. However if you ADD this to the top of a regular , it makes the bed extremely comfortable. It is almost as comfortable as my 10 this way. However, do not expect this to compensate for a bed that has bad springs or something else making the base of the bed bad, as is what happens in many older or lesser quality beds. It still will help substantially, but put it on top of the old and store it when not using. Turned my guest room into something that I now sleep in when company is here and gives me a great nights sleep. Great item!
