My mom picked it out. She likes it. Not sure how well it would stand up to a pre-teen or a teenager. We are using it without a box spring. If it was for someone who would bounce around more. I would use a box spring or get a board to go over the frame. I put my knee on it to turn the light on on the other side of the bed and one of the support slats came out. It was difficult to take off the plastic connector to get the spray back in and connected. We have been using it for a few months and I need to tighten the screws a little. I might not have gotten them really tight when I first pt it together.
