Solid piece of cabinetry. Prepare for off/gassing.
Sturdy, good/looking piece that has done exactly what I needed. I especially like the fold/out top extension. Assembly took some time, but the instructions were accurate. There was a lot of off/gassing; the product smelled strongly out if the box, and I had to leave it in my garage with the overhead doors open for almost two days to air out the smell before I could tolerate bringing it inside, but its been fine since then. They packed it with a lot of flimsy styrofoam, which I do not approve of as it gets everywhere and will spend nearly an eternity in a landfill, never decomposing. Nevertheless I give the product five stars because I am sure most readers want (as I did) to know if it is an attractive, sturdy, functional kitchen island and the answer to that is yes. I am quite pleased with it from a practical and aesthetic point of view.
