Service shined when they engaged on a problem to ensure my satisfaction
My neighbor has the 10 square version and raves about it. We ordered the last One 11 square in the only color left that we could tolerate: Blue. The ordering went smooth enough until the delivery date was approaching and the tracking stopped progressing. At one point after, that tracking offered option to reschedule, so I rescheduled. Still the Tracking showed it tantalizingly close ~45 min away so I waited for updates. I was pretty upset at this point because it was late in the season for patio goods, and I was concerned that my last One perhaps was not going to become reality.
This is where Service stepped up and proactively called me after my last re/schedule delivery event. Apparently theyd lost visibility from the carrier to where the item was. The gentleman offered me the option to cancel or wait 72 to see if the could locate it again. I said find it because I really need it. He called again a few days later to say theyd found it and asked me for delivery date where I could be home (to receive large item). It showed up in the delivery window with no damage.
Its easy to bash big companies or their workers when they stumble or fail, but working for one myself I know employees want to delight their customers. So thank you for a graceful recovery of an important transaction from a long/time Prime member!!
Oh. the umbrella? It rocks! Impressive design, materials, functionality, ease of use, assembly (takes two). I bought the 36 fillable base which Im getting sand for. I considered the buried base (good design) but I was afraid Id hit nearby tree root. Durability is TBD so we collapse to reduce UV and Ill consider proactively buying a replacement fabric for (hopefully) 5Y down the road. Buy this!
