The umbrella is a little hard to open, shut and maneuver but I think it will get easier as you learn the tricks. This is because the structure is so heavy which is great, it is solid, well built and very smooth. We had a few issues with first umbrella having some small holes and then sent another which ended up having same issues. The company sent a replacement fabric for both pieces to resolve. 100 satisfied now. It took some time to resolve but success. We got the brick red 11 foot umbrella, it is absolutely beautiful and looks very expensive.
