We purchased this umbrella in over 2 years ago. We close it up if we are not going to be using it for a few days, but when Im using it on a regular basis then I keep it open. We keep it covered with the protective cover that it came with when we do close it and it has held up beautifully. If the day is really windy I make sure it is closed since we live where we get some very strong Santa Ana winds. The fabric has not faded and weve had no trouble with the ribs breaking, it came with the legs for the bottom and we have secured them with large pavers (stacked 2 high) that fit between the legs of the base (8 total pavers). This umbrella is great and has provided lots of shade for our patio. We could not enjoy our outdoor living space without it!
