My husband and kids assembled this bed for our daughters, 7 and 13 years old. They enjoyed being able to help. You will need a second set of hands at parts of the build. The stain on the wood lets the grain show through beautifully.
Its definitely a softer wood though. I am slightly worried as the kids grow they might break through the boards under the bed or ladder. Especially my boys who dont know the meaning of caution. The frame is sturdy.
Worth it.
