Definitely NOT white. I returned the item without assembling it because it was nowhere near a bright white and did not match the furniture in my daughters bedroom. The posted picture shows the contrast between the white styrofoam and the furniture. Bummer. Other reviewers arent being picky about the color, its just NOT white.
