This bed seems to be very sturdy and I feel safe with kids on top bunk. I will say that it wasnt really hard to put together but very time consuming. The instructions are pretty clear but could be clearer on certain steps. All and all seems good. Oh yes, it comes in 2 boxes, When delivered they only brought the first box and I thought the manufacturer didnt send all the parts. Come to find out that the delivery company (wont say who) lost 1 box and had to wait for them to track it down before 2nd box showed up almost 2 weeks later.
