First off, the assembly instructions were THE BEST I have EVER encountered among the many, many items Ive assembled over the years. That is why I gave 5 stars for Easy to Assemble. Its actually quite a bit of work involved and rather time consuming, but the result is a sturdy bed. I was truly impressed with its build. LOTS of slats for good support.
I also think its a very attractive, while inexpensive, piece of furniture. However, the one negative, minor (IMO), is that it does scratch easily. This happened only in the course of assembly, and only on parts that are not visible.
I have been sleeping on the top bed, on a latex mattress, for about a month now. Very comfortable. I cant comment on the lower bed in that regard because it has not been used. (I would have a hard time getting up from it if I did. I doubt that would be a problem for a younger, spryer person.) I did find that pushing that lower bed under the top one was no piece of cake. It really just fits, so takes a bit of finesse. Also, unless I was doing something wrong with the casters, it didnt roll real easily. Wasnt horrible, but didnt just slide right under. MAYBE you need to make sure all caster wheels are pointing in the same direction, rather than expecting them to self correct? I am not sure if mine were or were not.
Last but not least, their customer service was top notch! They respond VERY quickly. I didnt find the set of locking casters until long after, as they were glued into the seam of the big, long box. I thought they were just missing. They sent me another set. Then, when assembling the lower bed, one of the slats was simply too long! It would not go in. They sent me a replacement. OUTSTNDING customer service!
Nice looking and very sturdy
