I wanted this chair and ottoman for over a year. When they went on sale on Prime Day I finally snagged them both. I was soooo disappointed and made arrangements that very day to send them back.
First, the color is way off. The slate looks like a gray-beige on screen but it is almost a true gray with just the very barest hint (maybe) of beige. I ordered the swatches about a year ago and while I cant find them, I do not remember the slate being a true gray because I have never wanted a true gray. Be sure to look at customer pictures for a much truer representation of color.
The ottoman is ridiculously huge--seriously, like obscenely huge. I am 56 and when I sit on the chair the bottom of my feet reach only 14 down the 42 ottoman. It looks like it was made for someone about 8 tall and overpowers everything else in the room, and my furniture is on the larger size of normal. It looks like I have an overstuffed twin bed in my family room. Which makes sense, since the chair/ottoman combination, at 87 x 42, is over a foot *longer* than a twin mattress, which is 75 x 39.
I am so disappointed! They are super comfortable and a great quality, and I could even live with the true gray color, but there is no way this ottoman is staying in my family room. It looks stupid. Everyone who has seen it agrees that it looks terrible. And even though the size of the chair is perfect, I dont want an oversized chair without an ottoman, so it is going back too. I really wish would make an ottoman in the proper scale for this chair.
